Clothing Swap

Why a Community Clothing Swap?
A community clothing swap offers a terrific chance to trade in gently-used clothing—and swap for some FREE, new-to-you attire! Clean out your closet, find new homes for your donations, and find your next favorite outfit.
How Does It Work?
- Gather up kitchen-sized garbage bags of any clothing that is freshly laundered and in good condition.
- Next, drop off your donations between September 14 and 25, OR bring your clothes on the day of the swap: Saturday, September 26.
- Additionally, due to demand, we will gratefully accept extra donations--especially of children’s and men’s clothing--from folks who don’t want to swap.
What Can I Expect On the Day of the Swap?
Absolutely all sizes and styles are welcome. Accessories, bags, and shoes are also included in this exchange. You may take home as many items as work for you! We are not able to offer changing facilities—if something looks nice and like it might fit, take it home and try it on!
When the swap is finished, we will donate some of the remaining clothing to Harbor House. Harbor House exists to empower individuals, families, and communities through domestic violence programs, advocacy, and prevention. It operates two full-service shelters while also offering a 24-hour hotline, chatline, emergency and counseling services, outreach, Resale Shoppe, and advocacy for domestic violence survivors and their children. Harbor House staff serves over 500 survivors of domestic violence per year in Kankakee and Iroquois Counties.
We can’t wait to swap some duds with you, neighbor!

Give Halloween costumes a second life and discover something new at our Kids' Costume Swap! Families are invited to donate used Halloween costumes and accessories and browse for a “new-to-you” Halloween get-up.
Costumes and accessories should be laundered and in good condition. Patrons can drop off items starting the week of September 28 through the day of the event on Saturday, October 3. Browsing racks will be set up on Saturday, October 3rd from 10 am - 1 pm.
No donation is required to browse, and you're welcome to donate without taking a costume. Everyone is welcome to participate!
