Scavenger Hunt Stop: Sequels

Sustainability is an important value of the Bourbonnais Public Library. We support sustainability through the reuse of supplies, swap events, and our book recycling program. 

When an item is removed from our library collection or is donated to the library and is still in good condition, we offer it for sale in our cafe area. Items that are in poor condition are recycled through our partnership with Knowledge Exchange. In 2025, our partnership with Knowledge Exchange helped save 31,000 pounds of CO2, 22 trees, and 74,000 gallons of water with 3,600 pounds of recycled material. 

Sequels Resale shop promotes sustainability in our community by curating and reselling quality clothing and accessories from you, for you! And, consignors receive 50% of a clothing item’s selling price. Items they are unable to sell are donated to St. Vincent De Paul, a resale shop with a zero-waste model – damaged and unsellable clothing are recycled and turned into insulation.
