Our Story

Our Story

The Bourbonnais Public Library was founded in 1978 by a small group of individuals who believed their community deserved library services. From its first iteration as a small reference center in the Grace House on Route 102 run by volunteers and comprised of donated material, to leasing the second floor of the Municipal Trust & Savings Bank, and eventually finding its home at 250 W John Casey Rd, the library has always valued innovation and expanding the services it offers our community.

Since its founding, the library has evolved into the bustling, welcoming space you know today.

The Bourbonnais Public Library offers a variety of services, including notary, public computers and printing, faxing, study spaces, free wifi and hotspot checkouts. We also offer programming for all ages, focusing on literacy, creativity, information sharing, and community connection.
